Sound Mind Collective is an organization based in Brooklyn, NY founded in the Spring of 2017 by Katherine Powell (KP Artist Management), Chris St. Hilaire (musician, The London Souls, Sinkane) and Nikhil P. Yerawadekar (musician, Nikhil P. Yerawadekar & Low Mentality). Our aim is to connect independent musicians and artists with our local communities to encourage meaningful positive growth through education, social justice advocacy and creativity.

SMC also provides resources for independent artists to help foster a socially conscious and self-sustaining creative community in the face of an increasingly corporate music industry.

The Sound Mind Collective is in residence at The Human Impact Institute in Williamsburg, located in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At 240 Division Avenue, this branch of Brooklyn Public Library has served its community for many years by providing providing mixed-use space for local non-profits. From ongoing group meetings and educational workshops, to space for practice and performance, to regular administrative upkeep, this residency will become the SMC homebase. We look forward to developing projects with the other residents and the opportunities that this will present to share our work, so please be on the lookout for new programming announced soon as we get settled in our new space!

Our goals rely on the development of a community. So whether you are a Brooklyn musician, a music lover, an activist or someone simply looking to get more involved in music culture, we'd love to be in contact with you to see how we could work together and to keep you informed of upcoming events-- feel free to drop us a line at thesoundmindcollective@gmail.com.
