“Wait a Minute” - The Junior Seniors

In the Fall of 1969, on the staircase of Mayfield Nursery in Harlem, NY, two little girls were passed each other. Starr Duncan was with her grandmother. Robin Lee was with her mother. They were two years old! Starr looked at Robin, she asked, “Will you be my friend?” Robin looked up at her mom. Her mother nodded in approval. Robin said, “Okay”

On February 22, 2020, Robin, who lives in The Bronx, New York and Starr, who relocated from The Bronx to Jonesboro, Georgia, met on the Zoom to catch up with each other and check on their experience of being home bound since they are senior citizens and Corona-19 pandemic flared up. Starr, a professional vocalist, and Robin, a novelist and artist, decided for laughs and peace of mind during a troubling time to create EDM music.

They are the junior seniors.

The junior seniors borrowed the name “Durga” for the album title from the fierce Hindu goddess. Durga’s ten arms on the album represent the ten general genres of music. In myth, Durga is a fierce goddess who empowers creativity and stops anything that threatens peace, health and prosperity.
